Universities that run the National Center for Atmospheric Research want to keep it from being dismantled.

A new letter from the American Academy of Actuaries draws a direct line between the planned dismantling of NCAR and higher homeowners insurance costs for US consumers.

A leading American research lab is slated to lose its critical supercomputing facility, according to a letter released Thursday by the National Science Foundation.

The announcement comes after President Donald Trump’s team said it’s “breaking up” a top climate research center.
