Thanks to Francisco Delgado (fdelgadodelapuente.github.io) for alerting me to how well this M5.5 earthquake in Peru shows up in NISAR data. Event page: earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/... This is the automatically produced GUNW (id in followup)

NISAR interferogram with rainbow colormap (sorry) over the magnitude 5.5 Huamancaca Chico, Peru, earthquake, overlain in Google Earth. The earthquake shows up as a series of clear fringes in the upper part of the image, covering about 5-10 km. There is also a 70 mile (sorry) scale bar, and the Google Earth watermark.

G0099/26 & G0100/26 are still in place for tomorrow morning and CARF 10/001 is still in place to the 27th of October, along with the HYDROLANT's which stretch to the 21st of October. But there seems to be some missing stage drop zone NOTAMs along the way.... As ever, wait an see.

The 300 meter pixels of the Sentinel-3 satellites are pretty useless for shipwatching but I've still always been curious what the limits are. Yesterday gave me a natural experiment with a cloudless ocean patch. The ship and its wake are indeed a faint smudge, unidentifiable without the AIS track.

One thing that has fascinated me about Kosvinsky Kamen since I first started gawking at it a while ago, are the apparent mining operations that take place around it. I have visions of miners accidentally knocking through to the command and control facilities.

And a closer view over North Dakota and the missile silos. Even though this is hours before - you can kinda see how a system primed to detect launches, could possibly interpret these as trails from ICBMs...
