I think the best lesson I've learned about game design since starting to work on TTRPGs is that design elements should be considered as tools to influence player behavior toward doing things that we consider 'fun' rather than considered in isolation

I think this stems from the idea that we can't be certain that our rules are going to work 100% as intended. I know for example, that I houseruled crash rules in Shadowrun 5th because they were badly thought out and written.

#TTRPG I feel that one should always look to all media for inspiration in their game design. For example, Skyrim was a big inspiration for our "class-less" "level-less" "talent" creation, customization and progression foundation. TLDR: Characters in Project Psyren are Crafted.
