Massachusetts law forbids providers from withholding care based on gender identity, but Fenway Health ended lifesaving gender-affirming care for 400 young people almost a year ago and so far has gotten away with it. So much for our "progressive" state. Solidarity with the arrested activists.

AG Campbell has a duty to uphold the laws of Massachusetts. Her office has neglected to do that while cowardly institutions like Fenway and Baystate Health flagrantly break MA laws by continuing to deny care to trans youth. These young people are braver than anyone in that office. Solidarity ✊🏻

Agree with their tactics or not, it’s groups like @protectransfutures.bsky.social that understood the threat. Rolling over on healthcare for trans kids is horrific in its own right. trans healthcare saves lives. But anyone who thinks trans adults (and cis women) aren’t next is fooling themselves.

In Mass, Fenway Health and Baystate stopped providing care to trans youth in advance because of threats from the admin (there is no actual rule. they rolled over in anticipation). Our Gov and AG say they will pay for youth care, but what if no doctors are willing to provide it under these threats?

When healthcare providers closed doors to trans teens, the NY AGO made an order to restore care. The California AGO sued + families are winning anti-discrimination cases in Colorado. When Fenway and Baystate removed gender affirming care for their trans patients, our AGO published a legal advisory?
