Now running three paid campaigns, a handful of one-shots a month and committed to playing as a character in a campaign as well as doing a woodworking course. I clearly don't like free time.

Decided to treat myself for finishing up two years long campaigns with the alt cover of Ravenloft Horrors Within. Very impressed with the quality I must say

I wrote for @thecut.com about the Cornell case and what it says that, at my institution and many others like it, protesters are often punished more harshly than sexual assailants www.thecut.com/article/what...

What It Feels Like at Cornell Right Now

As a professor at the Ivy League school, Kate Manne has known many, many victims. There’s a palpable feeling on campus, she writes, that this is big.

Considering I've been running a lot of sessions using the online book, thought I'd treat myself to the variant cover of Horrors within.

Just glancing at the picture and I immediately thought "Well as long as the Mice aren't called Vic Morrow they should be fine"

The time between The Godfather Part II (1974) and Meet the Parents (2000) is 26 years. The time between Meet the Parents and the new Focker in Law is also 26 years. You think De Niro is surprised he's still alive?

No you got a little teary eyed at the end of the Good Place. The comedy was middling to fine but the ethos and vibe of the show is kind of special & beautiful

It's a little thing, but I've been selected as a Top DM for Start Playing. Honestly a little chuffed with myself.

Launching my second paid campaign today. This might be the most high-fantasy adventure I've ever written, and I'm getting very excited as I plot out possible campaign arcs and characters. Seats are offered to my regular players first before going on general release.

Hardly a unique thought, but the 1 - 2 punch of losing Alan Rickman and David Bowie in 2016 seemed to spark off the darkest timeline we now live in, fucking dreading what the loss of Parton and Curry will do to reality now.

I write a lot of one-shot adventures, but my personal favourite has to be Music over Innsmouth. A love letter to Lovecraft, with about a dozen easter eggs. It's also the my most deadly one-shot I've written to date. Run it 5 times, killed 4 player characters. startplaying.games/adventure/cm...

AI RANT Following the cancellation of three major debut book deals over AI suspicions, I decided to put my own (needless to say, 100% human-written) prose to the test. My detector of choice was Originality AI, and the results proved to be jarring, to say the least. 🧵1/5

Session 1 of the weekend done, two more to go. First time running this horror adventure, went well, but I suspect I need to alter it quite a bit. Players instinctively feel that ventriloquist puppets are evil and should be destroyed.

Playing some Iron Nest to relax, and it's a very accurate approximation of what I imagine being an Imperial Guards Basilisk gunner is like: "Calculate range and angle, load, elevate cannon, SHATTER THEIR SKIES..... Miss. Whoever gave me these coordinates is being sent to a penal legion."

One of the joys of D&D is writing a one-shot with a major theme or visual in mind, spending days trying to work out how best to bring it to life, only for 4 hours before the session, throwing out 75% of your notes and going for a different vibe entirely. Love it

I agree with some of what's said in the article though. I think the team need to actually focus more on painting, the finished pieces of work, with higher quality images for us the audience to see and to get a better understanding of what the judges are thinking.
