Reuters reporting that oil and gas producers in Alberta flared (i.e. burned off excess) natural gas to the tune of 912.7 million cubic metres in 2024. By my math, that would emit about 1.8 megatonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. Or roughly the equivalent of Alberta's entire cement industry.

🥳Thanks to citizen push back, Devin Dreeshen has finally released the "confidential" AECOM report - but it's dead on arrival given that we now know it's an even more costly + risky. Of note, the report fails to contemplate the proposed elevated Banff Passenger Rail alignment.

What good is the AEMCOM report if it excludes a long list of things that could potentially wildly increase the cost of the "cheaper" elevated Green Line option? -Potential litigation; -Termination of contracts; -Utility re-re-locations; -Stranded / sunk costs -Delays 🍺 It's amateur hour again.
