The #CFPB won billions for consumers w/its rulemaking and enforcement actions over the past 14 yrs. They are the only federal agency created to protect consumer (not bank) finances. Now the Trump administration is trying to stop that work from within. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

This take is spot on. The CFPB is the only federal agency designed first and foremost to look out for consumers' finances. All the others were created to protect bank profits. Thoughtful take on potential consequences for the administrative state under Trump. I'll add another: if the quality of public services declines, people may ignore/not recognize the intentional sabotage and decide that government is just ineffective, weakening support for future public investment.
