I know a guy who argues that most reporting is biased because it doesn't provide context, which SOUNDS neutral enough! But the "context" is always, like, "Don't say 'gas prices are high' without saying 'but they would be even higher if Trump hadn't stopped Iran from blowing up major U.S. cities.'"

It kind of comes down to "facts." If you're MAGA, you believe Trump always tells the truth. If you're not MAGA, you know Trump always lies. Impossible to "meet in the middle" if you can't even agree on basic facts. Why ruin lunch?

This assumption that we all have to meet in the middle and work things out and not polarize the country is infuriating a lot of the time. Why do we have to work things out with the people responsible for ICE, the Border Patrol camps, Trump & his administration, etc etc fucking etc?

Even if I did follow this really, really misinformed and frankly repugnant plan and went to lunch with a MAGA, I would finish the lunch hating them just as much as I did before the lunch, because--stay with me now, OP--I already know what they stand for & what they do. Lunch won't teach me much.
