I make mine with a cone of paper w/fly-sized hole in it taped to the top of a jar of soapy water, and bait them with yeast paste smeared on the jar just above the water (just enough water to make a paste out of kitchen yeast). Things I learned as an undergrad in a fruit fly lab.

Good to see, and I hope WotC/Hasbro voluntarily recognize the union instead of trying to block them. If you have mutual respect and a good relationship, a union can be an asset in an organization because we provide a way for upper management to hear what’s really going on at the ground level.

That sounds about right. For us, a trip that’s usually two days by choice because we like to not spend all day driving became a 2 day by necessity trip. The Leaf’s passively-cooled battery + summer heat here meant we got 2 charging stops/day before the car said “Nope, we’re resting now.”

Same here - 2018 Leaf, which my family just demonstrated that we *can* successfully take it on a long road trip (Sacramento to Disneyland and back), but it’s not an experience I recommend. But it’s lovely for my daily commute.

I love all of Seanan’s writing, but this book in particular is lovely and I highly recommend it. It introduced me to the concept of a “Cozy Apocalypse”, and if you think that’s a contradiction in terms, read Overgrowth and see if you still believe that afterwards.
