#ISPORAnnual Virginia Acha notes that tough pricing regulation in the US will reduce incentives for investment in innovation - and this is a double whammy if coupled with reduced US funding of basic science. #referencepricing #HealthEconomics

At ISPOR 2025 Darius Lakdawalla: some form of price intervention is now inevitable in the US, hopefully based on value, and done in a ‘US specific way’. Time for the US to adopt its own HTA.

Since it’s the weekend- what are you all reading? Here are my favourite books from the last six months. ‘Atlas of AI’, ‘Character Limit’ & ‘Careless People’ all strongly recommended to understand the tech world. And some excellent fiction for temporary respite from it! #booksky @rcshuker.bsky.social

Having lived in the UK for several decades, I am still not adjusted to the topsy-turvy seasons back in NZ. It's Autumn and it's cold - but it's Easter holidays - so we hid the kids' easter eggs in the piles of fallen leaves & thinking about carving a pumpkin...with... a rabbit face?!
Picture of an Easter egg hidden in a pile of autumn leaves in New Zealand. Whereas Easter coincides with spring in the northern hemisphere, in the southern hemisphere it occurs in Autumn, when there are falling leaves and pumpkins and bonfires.

The first time I saw this, I thought it was a joke. But nope - Reading to Dogs is an actual thing that happens every Monday night at my lovely little local library here in Wānaka, New Zealand. #libraries #literacy#Libsky
An advertisement for the Reading to Dogs programme at Wanaka Library. I'm sure the dogs like it, but the main point is to help children improve their literacy in a non-judgemental environment. That's probably why it's not Reading to Cats. Cats judge.

Students at this university have made 'researcher ID cards' to help them to spot, at health economics conferences, the researchers who work on specific topics. This is very cute. And could have the makings of a very niche card game. #HealthEconomics
