This is not "a controversial vaccine trial," it's biological warfare, conducted by European researchers on African infants. It's imperialism, racism, eugenics, and the hubris of incredibly stupid people. It's denying vaccines to newborns! In what fuckin universe is this a "vaccine trial"?

remember: it saved no net money, social services US citizens are getting cut, and left the US in a weaker place geopolitically. none of the debates about fiscal responsibility, obligation to US citizens first, or 'hard choices' actually apply. they're all bullshit. killed people for nothing at all.

The maddening thing is that Trump is just doing everything he campaigned on. Nothing that has happened should have come as a surprise. The entire information ecosystem was a bubble of delusion in 2024.

What kind of person in the year 2026 does not know that you shouldn’t ask a disabled person why she is in a wheelchair? 🤯

I need younger generations to understand how weird it is that trump is such a unique terrible fuck up that it’s actually correct to blame the president for a demonstrably shittier economy and costs

Jared Kushner is not "on the other side of the aisle." He's not an elected official. He's not an administration official. He's the president's son-in-law and a private citizen. You do not, in fact, have to take meetings with relatives of the president. Some might even say you should *not* do that

My theory on this is that most people aren’t mad at “woke” or whatever, they just experienced an upheaval of society through COVID and its aftermath and can’t actually put their finger on what’s bothering them. Woke is just a scapegoat for “I want things back the way they were”.

As an author, how have you addressed a generic AI-written referee report? Did you approach the editor before working on the revision, address the issue in the letter to the editor when submitting the revisions, or something else? How has it worked out so far, if you don't mind sharing? #AcademicSky

Lots of people are in denial about the fact that the “rural voters” they’re thinking of are confederates we did not fully punish, and they will not change until we make good on the promises of reconstruction. That’s what I know from growing up in rural Tennessee.

So, what happens if I'm a parent and I know that my kid needs highly paid teachers, a library full of books with diverse characters, trans-inclusive bathrooms and extracurriculars, and a curriculum unpacking topics like systemic racism, colonial oppression, economic inequality, and climate change?
Facebook post from the U.S. Department of Education, saying "Parents know best" with a picture of a cartoon White, two-parent, heteronormative family, featuring a dad in a tie and sweater vest and a mom in a dress and pearls.

Your Prime Day reminder that half of Amazon warehouse workers struggle with food & housing costs. A third have had to rely on government assistance like SNAP — which was gutted last year. If Bezos can spend $500M on a yacht, Amazon can afford to treat its workers with dignity.

Everyone’s acting like the Dems taking back the House is a done deal and it is just so not obvious to me. Gerrymandering + stuff like this may create enough barriers that even a wave can’t overcome.

The fact that Elon Musk is now one of history’s greatest mass-murderers, due to his total destruction of USAID, is still far too little-known. It’s on all of us to shout this from the rooftops. Never shut up about Elon Musk’s genocidal crimes.

The failure of Trump’s 2020 election subversion plot turned in part on the willingness of a small group of Republican officials to defy him — almost all of whom have since been purged from power.

Trump did not reach a settlement with the government. There was no case to settle. He has not created a slush fund. He has colluded with Todd Blanche to steal money from the US Treasury. This is not a “deal.” This is a crime for which Trump & Blanche must be prosecuted. It ia a crime.

You can become disabled in an instant. People think those of us who are sick did “something” to deserve it. We didn’t. The just world fallacy is a lie. It just takes one illness, accident or stroke of bad luck to forever change your life. Disability is not a moral failing.

Eric Trump joining Donald Trump on an official state visit to China is much more corrupt than anything involving Joe and Hunter Biden, yet New York Times coverage indicates the opposite. I show the contrast here, and challenge anyone to explain how it isn’t media bias in Trump’s favor.

Here’s a key reason why it’s very bad that we keep losing big, well-funded media outlets that publish real journalism: Only those organizations have the money and heft to protect reporters from inevitable legal battles with powerful people (like, say, sex offender politicians and tech CEOs).
