Quick question for all the folks who go into a panic when they see any kind of wildlife in their yards; why the heck did you move to Florida? You live in the Australia of America and now you're shocked and appalled by the native critters.
They were here first, and they've lost a ton of natural habitat and food sources lately due to development.
Secure your pets, stay aware of your surroundings, SLOW DOWN AND GO THE SPEED LIMIT and leave the wildlife alone.
Maybe lay off the pesticides, fertilizer and plant some native plants that don't need all that artificial support while you're at it.

I have two children (one’s an adult now and the other is 10) who can puke in their sleep and not wake up at all. I genuinely do not understand how that’s physically possible but I’ve witnessed it multiple (horrifying) times. Anyhoo, kids are home sick again for the eleventybillionth time this year

Friday morning, I was gardening when I checked my phone. A request had gone out for help. For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes. ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.

ICE vehicle - black Nissan Maxima with plate cover - posted up in a spot that also serves as an elementary school bus stop.

Another ICE vehicle, black Dodge Durango, lurking around the community.

Two more ICE vehicles - black Dodge Durango and a white SUV, unclear on make, model - on a quiet residential street, being quietly creepy. Note that the white SUV has its plate covered.

There’s an outage, the building is on backup generator power and we’re all going home

Yesterday there were some electrical issues and one restroom was out of order at work. Today none of the outlets are working and the building smells like raw sewage. I just want a normal day.
