Having a life is a good bulwark against AI because it is very easy to fill my limited free time with actual good things made by human beings.

A few months ago people were calling Geese an industry plant because they had hired a PR firm

I know it’s not why he’s doing it, but I genuinely believe that, if we are going to have the death penalty, all executions should be televised. I think the people who support it should be forced to see what the policy they support really looks like.

I work with a straight white guy who got a full ride to Ohio State on a diversity scholarship because he was from a poor rural part of the state. That’s scholarship program is now gone because it’s “DEI”

I know AI is doomed because every company is actively trying to prevent you from using anything else.

The legal database I use just updated its homepage. Before it had every button you need, including the AI button. Now they made the entire page the AI button and you have to navigate through a bunch of menus to find everything else.

Yeah and they aren’t blaming straight men either, even though they are absolutely a majority of the people doing this.

Incredibly weird to blame gay men for this

Eating a cheap pizza while listening to some old heads play outlaw country at the neighborhood bar tonight. Highly recommend eating some cheap pizza while listening to some old heads play outlaw country at the neighborhood bar, if you ever get the chance.

The real hack is for your friend to text the group chat that there’s a pair of Doc Marten’s sitting next to their dumpster in case anyone is in the area and wants to check them out. I don’t know how to replicate this, but I have now had steel-toed Dumpster Docs for 6 years.

Everyone is obsessed with making the next subscription-based AI app even though the last two good innovations in consumer technology were the battery caddy with a built in battery tester and the Scrub Daddy.

Weird that the Marvel movies became repetitive and childish as soon as I became an adult. I wonder if it’s connected to the fact that all the best pop music ever made just happened to come out when I was 17

Maybe Americans aren’t ready for electoral democracy. The smallest hunter gatherer bands have more sophisticated systems to pick their leader than just voting for whoever can eat the biggest steak or whatever.

My bad. I’m sorry for taking your words that said “nothing else matters” and assuming you meant “nothing else matters.” I will try to read your mind better next time.

possiblypluto @possiblypluto.bsky.social · 07/07/2026
I agree, but let’s not pretend like nothing else matters until he’s gone. Most court reform only needs a simple majority. Impeachment needs 2/3rds. There are ways to address the problem without getting rid of him. False defeatism gets us nowhere.
100
possiblypluto @possiblypluto.bsky.social · 07/07/2026
No it doesn’t. The Court can be expanded with a simple majority in Congress. Impeachment requires a 2/3 majority in the senate.

Real Ancien régime shit. Throw a big party for all the wealthiest and most powerful people in the land and then make them listen to you sing your wedding vows for 40 minutes as a power move.

I suppose AI is a boon for pancake salesmen who can’t figure out how to set up an ordering system (a thing that every other business on the planet has pulled off without AI). How revolutionary.

I had a high school English teacher who would go off on a rant if someone described a book or character as “relatable.” I didn’t get it at the time, but she was so right

I’m convinced the anti 3rd person attitude that is so prevalent over there is connected to the obsession with books being “relatable”

Building a community around “reading” is kind of like building communities around “playing games involving a ball.” It’s technically an accurate description of what people are doing, but it includes activities that are as far apart from each other as Football is from Hungry Hungry Hippos.

I’m grumpy because I am in the middle of a big assignment for my legal writing class and spent all day trying to communicate complex ideas in clear, active sentences. Then I log on here and a massive news network is writing like it was kicked in the head by a horse.
