I keep thinking that one teensy improvement in Democratic messaging is to stop using the term "hollowed out." Joe Biden used it a lot, usually with "middle class." I think Joe SixPack is confused by "hollowed out." He thinks "I'm not hollowed out! I weigh more than ever!"

Just my opinion, but I think that the main reason that the rich want income tax rates close to zero is that they want to liquidate their investments without paying taxes. Whether this is good or bad is left as an exercise for the reader.
