With that, I'm far more optimistic about ethical developers creating alternative AI bots I can abide than I am about millions of conditioned algorithm addicts having a sudden epiphany to forgo the perceived benefits of consistently choosing dehumanization.

I've always accepted that AI is often trained by biased human beings. I've also now come to accept that AI has trained most humans online to act as biased algorithms. Harm comes from both. Difference? For many, AI is the only reliable entity left when humans can't otherwise find open ears or help.

Goofy Folks: "Lemme log into a billionaire-owned, AI-driven app to proclaim how much I hate billionaires and AI displacement. Also, I'll avoid engaging with the displaced, who need networking for referrals and hiring, because they lack an existing requisite status on AI-driven platforms."

Singing a spell by the side of the shore The mystical shaman enchants The Lord of the Water would like to hear more But he's stopped by his heavenly pants "I value your music but fear it's a snare To bend other folk to your will. My magical trousers and fey underwear Protect me from ever-y ill."

Germany/Curacao is an example of why I don't like World Cup hydration breaks (*cough* ad breaks) turning matches into 4 quarters, disrupting rhythm. Germany still may have won, but we were denied from seeing whether Curacao could build on the momentum of their goal 20 minutes in.

So I wrote that poem the other day Where each line had one more syllable And we went all the way to ten Well, you're reading its sequel "Syllable Subtraction" We've five lines to go We're almost there No climax Just a "Fin"

IT'S ALL OVER (2024, Netflix) tells the full story behind the hard-won battle by the Spanish women's national soccer team, who risked everything to achieve more equity in the sport itself, legal justice, and media coverage. Blown away by this story.

In 1936 Berlin, a boycott wouldn’t have given us the memory of Jesse Owens. When people weaponize global stages, you don’t hand them empty stadiums. Shared presence, amplified humanity are what disrupt the script.

While a host cosplays 1936 Berlin, the World Cup belongs to everyone. The only logical response, without punishing more athletes, fans, and workers who invested everything over the past few years, is focus on human beings, boost coverage of support local / grassroot responses. The world is watching.

Cards were given even after the final whistle was blown. Even the coach and staff were red-carded. It was so heated that refs needed police protection after full-time.

Last night's USWNT (1) vs. Brazil (0) friendly was KA-RAZY. I'd personally never seen anything like it: Match went on for at least 110 minutes and Brazil got eight red cards. Several reds and yellows just in the last 15 minutes of the match.

My ex claims he's going to watch the World Cup with me. I already know there's going to be a ton of manufactured narratives & skewed hijinx on the U.S. English broadcast, so I'm grateful we have easy access to the Telemundo feed.

I already deleted the previous number but this last scam came from Macon, IL.
Voicemail transcript from Walmart phishing scam. Alleges an order was placed with your name and phone number, and you're urged to call to cancel, since you'd would certainly know you didn't order it. The fake items in this particular call were a PlayStation 5 and headset.

Look out for elders and other vulnerable folks. Active phishing scam claiming Walmart order verification, charges supposedly made using your name and phone number. Fake items were PlayStation 5 & headset. You're urged to immediately confirm or cancel. Left me two VMs from different numbers.

After years of avoiding most sports, a series of random events led me to surrender myself to MLS and international football a handful of years ago. I saw the light! So much to love about the game, but I've met many cool people in stadiums. Excited about the World Cup and its continued growth here.

There’s a great three-part doc on Roku called SOCCER MEETS AMERICA (2026). One of the best facts I learned was about an earlier U.S. league attempt. They decided that a key way to appeal to Americans was to have a live monkey mascot. It performed stunts, tricks, and general simian mayhem. LOL

It's bittersweet that HACKS has ended, but the finale was great and my hat's off to that creative team for making five consistently great seasons of television. Beyond the hilarity, the series said something profound that I cherish as an artist and human being. I thank them for that.

It could have just as easily been a stage play. I have a soft spot for films like that, where you're taken deeper into a world with the actors themselves, and your imagination is where most of the visceral action takes place.

Forgot to mention HALLOW ROAD (2025). Interesting thriller I really enjoyed + admired its simplicity: most of the film is two actors in a car. Always love Rosamund Pike but recently realized Matthew Rhys is another who consistently chooses unconventional projects and gives killer performances.
