"There’s a freedom people are craving because they’re feeling so constrained, surveilled and, frankly, threatened in so many other spheres." Zines have made a resurgence as communities seek to share information on everything from ICE raids to local elections.

Los Angeles, CA - Protesters outside the Mayor’s House were allowed to have a roughly 5 minute talk with Mayor Bass. Protesters were excited to have the chat, but afterwards many said they didn’t feel as though it was meaningful. Protest appears to now be dispersing.

Very small animal sculptures I left in public spaces to be found.

Hilltop the camel has earthy tones and grows flowers on his hump

Trout the duck has the green and pink coloring of a rainbow trout

Bones the crow is warm white with pink eyes

Bunches the bear is yellow and green, like a just ripe banana

If we would reach a degree of civilization higher and grander than any yet attained, we should welcome to our ample continent all the nations, kindreds, tongues and peoples, and as fast as they learn our language and comprehend the duties of citizenship, we should incorporate them into the American body politic. The destruction of the federal government disproportionately affects black women. The federal civil service has long been a good career option because of the strong equal opportunity enforced in the civil service that has historically blunted the double discrimination that black women face.
