I do think we can find a better, healthier way. I think Gomi is right in that it might be twofold here: We need to start paying people, more than reg and a "good luck." We need to start lowering our expectations just a ✨little✨. Conventions can't be everything anymore.

Also, I feel that the community often takes our hotels for granted. So many very wonderful hotels welcome our community in to host for a weekend, yes, they get money out of it, but a great number of these venues support our events, go out of their way to lower costs, or make exceptions.
