I haven’t play dominoes since playing for pennies (or “shrapnel”) with my Nan on Lonsdale Street. That’s probably 20 years ago. Unexpectedly, whilst watching the football in my hometown pub, I ended up playing speed dominoes with the patrons, and I have just had a genuinely entertaining evening.

Just a reminder, as some question religious influence in UK politics. There are only two major countries in the world that guarantee clergy to hold seats in parliament. The United Kingdom and Iran. The UK automatically seats 26 Bishops in the House Of Lords.

Any suggestions for solo diners in Manchester? Preferably where they don’t exile you to uncomfortable high stools (short king) or cram you in with strangers (awkward short king). I am looking for a relaxed bite to eat later, where the waiter isn’t tapping their watch and rolling their eyes.

Britain First are in Manchester today, crying that they want our country back. It's news to me, frankly. It was here a minute ago. Presumably we are all hovering above the Irish Sea right now. Shall we organise a search party? For the missing country and a single brain cell amongst that rabble.

Did a Dave Allen and performed my stand-up poetry perched on a stool. More functional than stylistic: I think I’ve bruised/cracked a rib playing football. What is becoming one of my favourite poems of the set, a tribute to the old bar drunkard, received a lovely reception.
