Firefox for sure. All the others are running on Chromium.

I love the new Firefox 157 look. If feels so modern and polished. #Firefox (ilye.ss/notes/202610031356)

Firefox is perfectly functional without having to go into about:config. I would not recommend it as the pref that is being mentioned is very likely to be removed in the future.

I am not aware of any changes due to your ability to do CSS hacks to the interface, just be aware that they are unsupported and may break in the future.

Not really. Those preferences are due to be removed in a future update.

Either way, you are going to end up in the same place. Personally I would avoid using it now to avoid any sense of surprise when it is removed later.

Yes - head over to addons.mozilla.org and choose one that you like, or choose a few - they are very easy to add or remove.

I would not recommend using a hidden setting to reverse this as I would expect that setting to be removed in the future. You may wish to use Firefox ESR which will take you back to an older design and you still get security updates. Just be aware that it too will update next year.

if anyone is looking for a good discord alternative, I recommend matrix, especially with sable as the client for it. it's far from perfect, but it has end to end encryption and is decentralized while having a similar set of features.
