I’ve heard about the Black Beauty exhibit at the Royal Tyrrell, and always assumed it was the one in the photo I shared in a previous post, because of the dark room and all.. but this is Black Beauty! The other one was a Lord of the Lands artistic exhibit of a T. Rex cast. #dinosaur

The yellows have beverage related names, but Candypop is a #pikmin series cockatiel, so she’s named after candypop buds that spit out rock Pikmin. It’s not even the Pikmin name I had picked out for her, but the moment I met her, I knew she needed something sweet.

An odd number of cockatiels was causing drama, so after a lot of family discussion, we brought home Candypop in May. She’s a smart, sweet and healthy whiteface pearl from another surprise family of five, and is a joyful addition to our flock. (So glad my vet charges by the hour.) #cockatiel

Last night I was so tired that I fell asleep without taking my contacts out. In the morning, I put a fresh pair of dailies in. Spent the whole day wondering if I needed reading glasses. I didn’t figure out until 6pm that I put the new contacts on top of the old contacts. Please send help.

Honey’s vet said he was showing signs of stress and plucking. I made some changes to his environment and routine, and it has been a joy to hear him singing every morning for the first time since his surgery. Not all plucking can be “fixed” but it’s important to be aware of as an early health sign.
