OpenAI announced yesterday that #AI solved a famous #maths problem, involving the Navier-Stokes equations which describe fluids. The announcement implies that the equations don't always have physically meaningful solutions. (Find out more about the equations here: plus.maths.org/maths-minute...)

Spherical geometry actually does apply to us, because our planet is a sphere. We just don’t notice because we are so small compared to Earth. So if we draw a triangle and measure its angles, the amount by which the sum exceeds 180 degrees is so tiny that we can't detect it.
