Apple TV hits record viewership after Emmys wins
Fueled by post-Emmys fervor, the streamer says it just had its best viewership week of all time.
Apple TV has plenty to celebrate these days. The streaming service had a fantastic time at the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards, winning 29 total awards at the Sept. 14 ceremony — the most it has ever been honored with. In the wake of those wins, Apple TV says it had its best streaming viewership week of all time.
Key Details:
Record-setter: Apple says the week of Sept. 14 was its best viewership week ever.
Helping hand: Emmy-winning shows like “Pluribus” and “Widow’s Bay” helped drive the surge.
Justified?: Apple TV has to be pleased with the timing of its most recent price increase in relation to the Emmys.

Apple’s record week of viewership was driven in large part by titles that picked up Emmy statuettes earlier this month. In total, viewership jumped by 67% year-over-year during the week of Sept. 14, helped along by newly honored series such as “Pluribus ” and “Widow's Bay .”
Per Apple, viewership for “Widow’s Bay” jumped by nearly 300% in the week after the Emmys, and “Pluribus” had a 200% spike in views. The new comedy film “Mayday ,” starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh, is also lending a hand, having become the streamer’s biggest film debut of all time over its first 18 days.
The return of “Slow Horses ” is also helping draw eyes to Apple TV. The darkly comedic spy thriller series, which dropped its sixth season premiere on Sept. 16, has seen viewership rise 25% over Season 5 in its first seven days of availability. “Ted Lasso ” is also lending a hand, pulling in over 734 million viewing minutes per Nielsen.
The data, combined with the record-setting night at the Emmys, could serve as a turning point for Apple TV. The streamer will certainly reap some financial benefits from its newfound success; the streamer raised prices in late August, meaning that now have to pay $15 per month in order to stream Apple TV’s library of hits.
Viewers who want to stream “Mayday,” “Pluribus,” “Ted Lasso,” and other Apple TV titles do at least get a seven-day free trial upon signing up. Want to stream other Emmy-winning shows from 2026? Click here to learn where to watch every show that collected an Emmy Award this year.
