If Bob Dylan were on Bluesky

Then she says, “You don’t read women authors, do you?”

Least that’s what I think I hear her say

“Well,” I say, “how would you know and what would it matter anyway?”

“Well,” she says, “you just don’t seem like you do!”

I said, “You’re way wrong”

She says, “Which ones have you read then?” I say, “I read Erica Jong!”

"It's hard to imagine the desire to ban a book.
It's hard to imagine actually going out into the world to ban a book. I go back to the
"Areopagitica," John Milton's defense of free speech, free written speech, where he says that if you cloister a mind, if you ban books that disagree with the prevailing sense of what is right and wrong or what is religious or not religious or what is affecting young people of not affecting young people; if you cloister that mind, you leave it weak and undefended.
"You have to go out into the marketplace of ideas and decide which one works for you. You can't spoon-feed people. You can't spoon-feed a culture. You're going to get shit, you're going to get propaganda, which we get a lot, I think."

3. The guy who posted free P has some level of responsibility even if he didn’t assault her. 4. Did the men call and text her to apologize or trying to ascertain whether she was going to talk or not? 5. One other women said she was called to try and convince Jane Doe not to tell anyone.

My notes 1.A woman can agree to a threesome and that does not mean she has agreed to sex with an entire fraternity house. 2.What a rape victim says or texts to those who assaulted her in the days following should be contextualized by trauma, fear of further violence, and further coercion.

Music is important in my life. I grew up as a close listener due to having a musician father, but I also have a brain that is wired differently,I think. In any conversation, I have to refrain from responding in relevant song lyrics (or try). I self talk in lyrics. “In the end, there’s still a song.”

I wasn’t yet in my 60s when Rough and Rowdy Ways came out, but the pandemic was significant for all of us wasn’t it and certainly I was in my 60s by the time Dylan was touring on it. It’s the most significant album for me of this decade.

“Time Out of Mind” is a recently divorced era album for me. Most people who knew me during my years previous would be surprised a Dylan album hadn’t already shown up, but this album would be the album that made me more appreciative of all the earlier albums and albums to come.

I listened to a lot of The Who in my college years and throughout the 80s. Will never forget my first Who concert, but I was a big Prince fans since High School and “Controversy” and “Purple Rain” touched me. A Moody Blues album would round out this period perfectly for me.

In High School I was a never disco gal. While I still mostly listened to The Beatles, Outlaw Country was what was cutting edge and different. My parents were divorced and so it was a bond with my father. If I could add an extra album for senior year it would be The Stranger.
