mike g @pixelsand8.bsky.social · 15hI got to Wellington Circle to take the 134 bus that leaves at 6:55, but it took a while for me to figure that out. Google maps was little help. Best part is there's a commuter rail stop to Woburn that's about a mile from the courthouse but somehow a 70+ minute walk. 000
mike g @pixelsand8.bsky.social · 16hLucky you, mine didn't get cancelled last summer and I had to wake up at like 4am to get there via mbta bus lol 100

mike g @pixelsand8.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I don't know enough about Seattle politics to have a take on Wilson but I do love how these hit pieces always have some variant on the same "socialism" joke (eg "it's great till you run out of other people's money har har har!"), I guess in case you forgot legacy media has an agenda. 1380
mike g @pixelsand8.bsky.social · 03/10/2026This is exactly why this film needs to be seen in theaters (whether by yourself or with friends), the awkwardness of laughing at its unhinged humor in a room full of strangers is part of what makes the experience work. Watching it alone streaming, now that will be weird! 010
mike g @pixelsand8.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I wouldn't consider traffic to be merely an aesthetic preference. You mention speed which makes things worse but a car going 20 mph can still hurt you, albeit maybe less than a car going 35. Also when cutting through people naturally will have a mindset to speed. They shouldn't, but it's a reality. 110
mike g @pixelsand8.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I haven't seen anyone mention that cab drivers in London famously have to take a test proving they know all the streets in the city. It's hard, you have to be smart to pass it, cab drivers are highly respected as a result. No GPS required. I feel like these are all good things. 051

mike g @pixelsand8.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I mean sure but it's a logical inconsistency with your other point - if cities shouldn't be allowed to restrict traffic they shouldn't be allowed to restrict parking either. 300
mike g @pixelsand8.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Does it really belong to all though? Because if it did, cities wouldn't be able to restrict on street parking spaces to residents. 110
mike g @pixelsand8.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Yeah they're literally just exploiting a loophole the previous system didn't account for. Is it legal? Perhaps. Is it ethical? Well... 110

mike g @pixelsand8.bsky.social · 03/10/2026This feels like the exact sorta thing "government regulation" was invented to prevent. What Google Maps did here shouldn't just be illegal, high level employees shoulda been jailed over it. 290
