Question for fellow artist commission doers - at what point do you remove a commission from your hardrive and delete it? I have pretty much every commission I've ever done backed up on my harddrive but I never ever touch them or share them & wondering if I should just delete them to free up space!

I heard we were drawing trans bunnies being gay so here is my contribution. #fursona #oc #trans

An illustration of two bunny fursonas sleeping in a futon. They're snuggled up together in their sleep. Around them are a plushy carrot, their phones, a book, and an extention cord. One bunny is wearing orange pajamas with carrots on them, and the other wears a black vest.

I'm so excited to finally be able to announce that my novella 'Marooned Off Ceres' is being published by @wtpress.bsky.social this autumn, alongside 'Top Tips For Loving a Lizard' by the inestimable @stephencoxauthor.bsky.social as Wiz Duo 4. I'm indebted to @hierath77.bsky.social for fantastic /1

Text of the Press Release:

Wizard’s Tower Announces Wiz Duo #4
Wizard’s Tower is delighted to announce the fourth in our series of back-to-back novellas. Wiz Duo #4 will include stories by Ellen Mellor and Stephen Cox.

As usual we have selected stories that complement each other. In this case both Ellen’s ‘Marooned Off Ceres’ and Stephen’s ‘Top Tips for Loving a Lizard’ are first contact stories in which the lead protagonist is queer-identified.

Ellen Mellor said: “I’m so happy that Wizards Tower chose my story for publication. I loved every moment of writing (and rewriting and redrafting and…) ‘Marooned Off Ceres’ and the finished product (with absolutely spot-on editing by Jo Hall) exceeded my every wish for it. It’s exactly the sort of story I love—a science fiction story in which the trans identity of the protagonist is an important part of who she is but doesn’t overshadow the rest of her. I feel that stories written by and centring trans people are needed more than ever to show that we have our own voice and we will not allow ourselves to be silenced.”

Stephen Cox said: “This is the story of my heart, the story I wished my teenage self could read. I wrote it for the glorious joy of writing it, but I’m also conscious of how sinister forces want to put us back in a box. We must imagine better futures, because we can make what we can see and feel.”

Editors Roz Clarke & Joanne Hall said: “We knew we wanted to publish Ellen’s novella as soon as we read it. It’s rare that a story makes us spit tea laughing AND makes us cry, and the ending was so perfect. And Stephen’s story arriving at the same time just felt like serendipity. It’s funny, raunchy, romantic and satisfyingly twisty. We both have a real soft spot for first contact stories, and we’re delighted that these two novellas work so well together.”

My indoor cat Binx has escaped the house and we have no idea where he is. He's been missing for hours. I don't know what to do with myself.

Today @polphilpod.bsky.social gives us a very important breakdown of what has happened to trans rights in the UK and what it means for the freedom of even cis citizens there. We published it because the UK press is completely captured on this topic. Please read & share with folks who live there.

the artistic process

PANEL 1: a pigeon sits, head thrown back as they yell "i need to drawwww"
PANEL 2: the pigeon sits up, drawing in a sketchbook, a box of crayons next to them. frowning, they say "ugh this sucks"
PANEL 3: the pigeon lays on their front, happily propping one wing on their face and kicking their legs. they're drawing a slice of bread and say "oh wait, i love art"
PANEL 4: the pigeon stands up, head thrown back as they kick a ball of paper. their art is either scribbled out or balled up, the box of crayons knocked over. they angrily say "i hate everything i've ever made!!!"

My favourite food is Mexican but I'm very food motivated and will do almost anything for a scooby snack. My pet peeves are people who don't know the difference between "wild" & "feral", when people don't understand that Meatloaf said what he won't do in the song, & that the song Ironic WAS ironic.

More random info about me: I live in Wales with my girlfriend @anarchofliss.bsky.social and our two cats. My favourite genre of music is Yes, especially if its live. I like video games, but I'm bad at collaborative ones. If I'm not at home I'm probably in the woods pretending to be a hobbit.

In case you're new here, hi I'm Piper, I'm transmasc disabled comic artist and illustrator, with an annoying sense of humour and a need to inflict it on people. I'm trying to combat the horror of The World Right Now by building community with my fellow LGBTQ+ peeps and making art. #art #intro #lgbt

'A simple (perfect) life' - my spring landscape is finally finished! An apple orchard in bloom, old railway, sheep with their lambs and an allotment being prepared for growing :) Zoom in to see all the other tiny details too... I think this might be my favourite aerial embroidery I've ever done!

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn aerial view landscape. It depicts an apple orchard in bloom in the centre, allotments to the left and sheep in their field at the bottom. Train tracks go past the top of the orchard and allotment.

Sewn train tracks past an apple orchard (to the left).
