iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

this was a great panel, thanks to y'all for doing it! really helped me understand the process producers are going through. before this I was getting pretty discouraged by the submission process, but knowing what is being looked for + the intense volume of submissions being considered, it all helps

the wild thing is that this is an unseeded run, like, i just went and did this off a random seed lol

100

welp i have officially hit the balatro kill screen

been building up an ante 39 run on Balatro while on vacation and it looks like I'm actually gonna do it. Was just trying to practice legendaryless but popped a Perkeo early, and with Plasma Deck the rest was pretty easy

100

Burglar-Serpent naneinf is in some ways a touch closer to consistent just because the Plasma Deck scoring is so much more forgiving than the Ghost Deck scoring; adef was really out there on hard mode

1. didn't say intern anywhere 2. don't call strangers honey that's fuckin weird as hell 3. you're not even making a coherent point you're just digging for a way to be right in each reply. what is this reply even trying to suggest

I think you might be overestimating the scale of the GDQ corporate governance structure a little bit here

130

this is a pretty wild assumption; I personally learned SNK sucked about 40 minutes ago. legitimate criticism can and has been made about not doing their research but like, I think Random Staff Member Didn't Know A Fact is about 100,000x more plausible than Human Rights Org Tries to Sneak Saudis In

"They need to let me harass someone specific" is not really a reasonable demand by any stretch of the imagination are you kidding

(I think the calls for transparency about how this happened are a good thing to ask for, though I'm inclined to give them more than like an hour or two to figure that one out personally)

0270

this is an org that 36 hours ago interrupted their charity stream to show a documentary on the atrocities of Gaza, then had their host make an emotional appeal for human rights. there are clearly strong intentions to do good from the people involved, even if they made a boneheaded mistake today

"we want consequences" feels kinda... vengeful? idk. I was very upset when this happened but idk what else we could ask of them other than shutting it down within hours of the post going up and immediately apologizing. demanding someone Get Fired For This is a really toxic impulse

We will not accept the funds from this sponsorship or continue to work with this sponsor again. GDQ is committed to supporting human rights and inclusivity, and we recognize that this partnership conflicted with those values.

We have canceled our sponsored stream with SNK. We have heard the concerns from our community regarding this partnership, specifically the company’s majority ownership by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, and the human rights concerns tied to the Saudi government.

That legitimately might have been the best twelve hours of GDQ I've ever experienced, what a treat to be here for such a great Friday. This show is better than ever.

HUGE shout out to @adef.bsky.social for repping Balatro Naneinf speedrunning on the biggest stage, with the most intense and dramatic run anyone has _ever_ seen. If y'all missed it, you gotta check it out the second the VOD drops.

I think I'm fully hooked back into PTCG speedrunning again. I need to create a tool that helps me determine RNG position from quick inputs of limited information, vaguely similar to the Sploosh Kaboom tool in Wind Waker... once I do that I'm ready for sub-50

Wednesday has been kind of a rest day for me at SGDQ; Thursday and Friday are gonna be big pushes

not taking a lunch photo today because it's just five guys and I'm trying not to eat too much before dinner

We won Crokinole doubles! That's three GDQ crokinole tournament wins for me at this point 💜

pinecone606 @pinecone606.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

kept my streak of appearing in one of the Crokinole finals of every GDQ event I've attended! I won SGDQ 2024 singles and AGDQ 2025 doubles, and lost in the finals of SGDQ 2025. Now in the top 2 for doubles

Doing an unofficial, offline, just for fun speedrun race of PTCG (GBC) speedrun at 8 PM in the practice room. Will be racing Any% Glitchless with Toronite and Raagentreg, come check it out if you wanna #SGDQ2026

The games committee at GDQ has an excruciatingly hard job, so I have absolutely zero hard feelings about their decisions whatsoever, and I don't really expect this game to ever work. Just wanna see if there's anything else to try in order to give this game a shot.

All of which is to say: if you have any ideas please let me know lol. The feedback we got was pretty brutal so my expectations are basically zero, but given how the run has done well at other marathons and hotfix, maybe there's room for it to be considered with a bit of improvement.

120

Some low hanging fruit is color key filtering to reduce flashing, and playing while leaving animations on to try and add some coherency. We're also thinking of supplementing the run with real copies of the trading cards, or even a race against an actual game of classic PTCG.

We asked for feedback after submissions to try and get some direction and were told the game as it stands will not be considered, so we're gonna have to figure out something to fix the issues with watchability and flashing.

Spending idle time at SGDQ trying to figure out a way to make Pokemon TCG watchable enough to have a chance for future submissions. Looking for some ideas!

I'm at Two Mixed Up today for lunch, a place I've walked past several times but always looked pretty good. Good prices and great portions! Great for a quick snack of fries or curds too

000

yeah for sure! I remember seeing y'all playing some Crokinole near the end of SGDQ 2023, having a blast, and that's when I knew I had to be there for future tournaments. The enthusiasm and level of play from everyone has only grown since then.

pinecone606 @pinecone606.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

it's genuinely been so cool to see Crokinole gain a cult American following in no small part due to its growing presence at GDQ. If there is ever Crokinole finals on the main stage, I'm gonna train for that like it's the Olympics

my first skyway lunch of the week is, as always, Takatsu - it's pretty good, not too crowded, and the hours are too restrictive for most of the week haha. seating is limited so it's best on your own
