What if the nondeterministic system gets it subtly wrong tho, like inputs a comma instead of a decimal somewhere, OCR reads an l instead of a 1; who takes the liability? And how can you ensure it doesn't have an issue like that without the same amount of effort as doing it yourself

I don't know if we should consider children in a country as citizens of said country, as they don't have the agency to choose their location

SteamOS is a fuckin nightmare to get anything beyond basic stuff working tbh (had issues with HDMI2.1, OBS virtual cam stuff, general driver stuff on all amd rig), one of the third party equivalents like bazzite or a mainline distro would be better and just as easy to initially setup imo

Redundant power sources such as gas turbines that require human input and infrastructure to keep running. Very few DCs are running off of renewable power.

So what are LLMs if that's not an accurate description then?

Just casually gonna hack a datacenter and transfer terabytes of data without anyone noticing, and even so the datacenter power companies wouldn't just be flipping off the power? Lmfao ok

In no world do billing APIs and physical security get crippled by LLM hardware going down, the LLMs require their own hosts and hardware, if said companies route those through an LLM, tf are they even doing??

How would AI enable a botnet where previous and current malware efforts don't without a fundamentally different technology? It's not going to decide to become evil, it's not conscious. It needs to be prompted
100
Orb Enthusiast @piluvr.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
You absolutely can turn it off though as AI needs specialized high power chips to run at any reasonable rate, if you're afraid of it shrinking you're just afraid of something ordinary malware could and does already do with botnets

Now with a mathematician claiming openai stole their work from model logs, what we thinking, still impossible for it to have happened to someone without enough backing to push back publicly?🤔 mastodon.social/@tristanbuck...

If AI operates on a technology that requires source data to function correctly how would you police that the source data is accurate? Make it illegal to post something wrong on the internet? The AI doesn’t know if it’s wrong unless you tell it it is and how would you outpace a bot at that?

In which it took until 2000 before chile had a socialist presidency again, in large part because of how the system had been changed to ban opposition parties and required time to fix within said system. You just can't enact sweeping changes without it fundamentally being revolutionary.

That vote was only accepted by pinochet because of the physical threat backing it, through economic sanctions, the refusal of the junta to stand behind him, and labor strikes/protests. Once again, if you can just take out your opposition, why wouldn't a dictator do that?

They want an exploit for it to run on modern firmware, which I think would be worth way more than 10k to Sony.

Why would you give up power if your opposition isn't physically able to make you do so? What are you gonna do, lose your power? The threat of violence includes indirect violence. SA and Nazi Germany literally wouldn't be where they are without armed resistance.
