In Super Mario RPG, Mario's house is made out of pure darkness by default, and every object inside it is only colored in manually by a script when Mario enters. This is the only area in the game that works like this, for an unknown reason.

In Super Mario RPG, the graphics for the inside of Mario's house are completely black in the files and only get colored in manually by a script when he actually enters it. This is the only area in the game that works this way.

In 2023, concept art was revealed by Super Mario RPG artist Jiro Mifune where the party was inspired by The Three Musketeers, and included Wario. The posts were soon deleted, but I have restored the images to the best of my ability.

In November 2023, Super Mario RPG artist Jiro Mifune shared early concepts where the party was themed after The Three Musketeers. The posts were soon deleted, but were preserved by Super Mario RPG expert pidgezero_one. The photos are taken at oblique angles and have very low contrast.
