Philipp Lange (he/him) @philipplange.bsky.social · 31/08/2026In this first study we only looked at a small number of participants and limited number of cells but it already indicates not only the feasibility of SCP in these tiny cells but also the huge potential for future discoveries. 110
Philipp Lange (he/him) @philipplange.bsky.social · 31/08/2026We then went on to map these populations to evaluate their morphology and localization in bone marrow biopsies and found signs of differences in stem like phenotypes, and more, across SCP, IHC and histology. 100
Philipp Lange (he/him) @philipplange.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Farah and team (Felix Kraus, Agustina Conrrero, Jonathan Bush,Audi Setiadi) analyzed single cells from 3 kids with B-ALL and 2 non cancer control participants and found that SCP finds leukemic subpopulations not apparent by clinical flow cytometry. 100
Philipp Lange (he/him) @philipplange.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Studying leukemic B-cells from patients by MS is not easy - very small (~1/5th of HELA) with <50pg protein. PhD student Farah Jayousi took this challenge on, optimized method to quant ~1,000 proteins in single primary patient B-ALL cells (>2,500 in HELA) after filtering on Bruker timsTOF ultra. 100

Philipp Lange (he/him) @philipplange.bsky.social · 11/02/2024Is disk speed still relevant or is it really mostly memory speed/capacity and threads? How relevant is single core speed these days?(ie how many key steps are not parallelized?) 210

Philipp Lange (he/him) @philipplange.bsky.social · 08/02/2024That is good to know. Not sure where I got the idea. So I guess it’s still the same then. High thread count, high single core speed and lots of RAM? Other than for Maxquant that (used to) read/write many small temp files disk speed is not a major factor, correct? 110
