my pet peeve as a reviewer: grant apps that state the trainee or ECR *is going to* create an IDP to use later during the project period. ummm why not create the IDP FIRST then write a detailed training/career dev plan that actually incorporates the identified needs/gap areas???

Remember, many recommendation letters you were asked to fill out are due December 1st (many emails DON'T say this for whatever stupid reason). That is before you return to work after Thanksgiving since it is so late. Do it before you eat that Turkey. The students will have less indigestion.
