I agree that the basic pension is not good enough; but equally I think there are *some* pensioners that are sufficiently wealthy through other means who don’t need the full state pension. Eg an investment / asset portfolio of £1M should easily generate £20k income per year which is more than the SP

Microsoft wants to build a 160MW AI data centre just outside of Leeds, next to the River Aire. By its own numbers the resulting habitat loss is massive. The reedbed and wet woodlands will lose 87% of their biodiversity value whilst the site as a whole will lose 72% of its existing wildlife habitats.

I’m don’t see the attraction; where is the benefit (to me as a consumer)? Is there more availability of rides? If it’s more expensive and I’m putting someone out of a job - who benefits (answer- follow the money) This is why all these data centres are springing up all over the place IMO

Maybe initially, but once all the driver cars have gone bust the prices will increase. I don’t get any greater rewards from my bank now that I do everything on their App and they don’t have massive high street infrastructure costs (and staffing) to cover. Same business model with taxis & drones.

Young people are fantastic, and the more time I spend delivering scouting activities the more I’m convinced of that. The watersports team I volunteer for hosted 130 young people in 5 different crafts. I’m in the orange boat in the middle of this pic, putting someone back in their kayak (again)!
