I’m stealing the term “option maxing”, I’ve always done it never had a name for it 🙂 Also thanks for removing the pressure to move to PRs in the ages of Agents. I’m a push to main set up guy 😁 010

peteduncanson.bsky.social @peteduncanson.bsky.social · 24/09/2026The genie is out the box on this one. It’s not going anywhere. Even if data centres die I can still see devs running local models of some sort to ease coding. It’s too transformative of a tech (for coding at least) to go away. So yes grieving for the loss of the craft as it was might be right 020

peteduncanson.bsky.social @peteduncanson.bsky.social · 17/09/2026This is why Starmer had to go, his final act for Labour is to let these ick feelings, talking points and policies that progressives disliked so much with him to give Burnham a clear space to start a fresh. If they don’t use that space then why change other than for personal ambition of Burnham? 000
peteduncanson.bsky.social @peteduncanson.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Travel tech is such a mine field for compromises. From booking engines running on ancient hardware and code to the sheer scale of the combinations for flights, dates, pax and accom. peteduncanson.bsky.social @peteduncanson.bsky.social · 04/09/2026I will say I’ve never written so much (as in actual word code) as have have this last year or so in prompts and docs. I’ve also never produced so much code either. The throughput is astounding. Hence my thoughts that everyone will want to “drill baby drill” in code and not worry about next gen 000
peteduncanson.bsky.social @peteduncanson.bsky.social · 04/09/2026It’s a tough problem I can’t see an obvious solution for. For coding at least I can see the depth in knowledge will change, the agents are so good now it’s more about knowing the problem spaces and architecture than every best practice, odd code quirks or speed optimisations so shift focus to that 110
