This is a neat segment from an old Discovery Channel feature in 1992 on one of the BattleTech Centers (Chicago) and their immersive cockpit sim pods. I think this might be one of the 'System 1' pods, their graphics in part powered by Amiga 500s. #VideoBytes

Was lucky enough to have a BattleTech center near me in the mid-90s. I was terrible at it, but it was so cool to play in such an immersive environment. This clip is from Beyond 2000, which Discovery imported from Australia. The show really stoked kid me's excitement for what the future held!

Now known as SIFF Downtown. The only operating cinema in the US capable of showing ultra-widescreen Cinerama films using three synchronized projectors and a curved screen made up of 2,000 vertical strips. Great place to see a 70mm film!
