Big day for me today. I took first place in the Men’s 45+ Debaets-Devos crit race. Winning means I’m the Michigan state champ!! I raced smart and got in a breakaway with a person from the largest team. We held off the field, and I took it in the end!

One Easter my parents put a cassingle of REM’s Stand in my Easter basket. I wore that tape out. In the Walkman non-stop. Every time I rode in the car. I couldn’t get enough. Then I took it on a flight. The tape fell out, and we deplaned. It was gone forever. My parents rejoiced. I was crushed.

Finally getting my road bike ready for the season, as the first nice day is here. Cleaned out the old sealant, added new sealant, lubed chain, charged batteries, updated shifter and derailleur firmware. On the other end of the spectrum is my track bike: pump the tires, and it’s ready to ride.
