Mayor Wilson should probably concern himself more with fulfilling his campaign promise to end unsheltered homelessness in a year (guess we’re getting close to the 2 year mark, imagine if I’d made such a promise!) than disparaging councilors who are undoubtedly returning to office. Just a thought!

Fill in the blank. I think it's totally fine for my City Councilors to give away $120M-$405M to ________ without seeing any information about the project.

"The City Council’s choice to budge comes as tensions hit an all-time high." I don't know why the article is framing this as Council deciding to send a term sheet to the Blazers. Council got a PPT briefing on the high level concepts of the term sheet in exec sesh, and then this went out from admin

Rip City, Not Rip Off — Define the Market Deal
The City's facility assessment shows a $505M 20-year plan, with two-thirds tied to revenue-generating upgrades. Portland should define a market deal before any public vote.

4/5 The state has committed $365 million in taxpayer dollars already pending a city deal with the Blazers. A fair deal rests with Mayor and City Council

Portland for All @pdxforall.bsky.social · 03/06/2026
3/5. However @ripcitynotripoff.bsky.social dug into the data. Only $163 million are necessary repairs to maintain this public building. The remaining $341 million is for Blazers’ revenue generating upgrades. That’s should be on them.

Portland for All @pdxforall.bsky.social · 03/06/2026
The city’s independent arena experts report Moda repairs and upgrades would cost $253 million in today’s dollars. That’s $505 over 20 years.

4/4 We call on the Mayor to denounce this Owendoff and Future Portland's racist language. Tomorrow, we ask Portlanders to wear blue or purple to support BIPOC councilors during the 9 a.m. session to elect the next council president.

3/4 Owendoff is a donor to the Mayor, and Future Portland endorsed the more conservative members of council. Similar to Trump, we know this racist and misogynistic language seeks to diminish people of color, the folks working hard to defend working people across the city.

A lame duck Council should not be making sweeping reactionary policies at the request of a DA who hasn’t even taken office yet. Let the newly elected Council, our most diverse ever, decide when they take office in 2 weeks.

While I’ll be in person to be accessible to constituents, non front facing employees shouldn’t have to be. This is antiquated. Work from home equalized the workplace in so many ways for women, parents, caregivers, people of color, etc., why should we take that away?
