Só mesmo o Lula para fazer com que a esquerda demonize a IA mas, ao mesmo tempo, faça um uso corriqueiro e tão banal de tal ferramenta. Considero-me de esquerda, mas certas contradições não podem passar despercebidas.

The fact that this protocol is designed to be “open” adds no real value in itself.

Well, I think a lot of this comes down to the lack of private accounts on this platform. These days, people value even a basic level of privacy. Even on social media, not everyone wants to share their thoughts with the entire world. +

Well, I can see that, unfortunately, we won’t be able to have even a minimally civilised conversation. It’s a shame that even marginalised people can treat others with such rudeness and disrespect, doing nothing but amplifying the toxicity that is already inherent in social media.

Yes, but at no point did I say otherwise. I just asked if I would be blocked. 🤷‍♂️

People often follow someone simply to keep up with their posts, not because they endorse the opinions expressed on that account. Preventing someone from following you or blocking them simply because they follow a controversial figure is also a form of intolerance.

Can I express my opinion politely and respectfully, or will I get blocked for it? Well, I think this is nonsense. People should have the right to follow whoever they want on social media. +

In short, every social media platform is a financial asset. The companies behind them and their investors are the ones who benefit, even if it comes at the expense of teenagers’ and young people’s mental health.

The answer is obvious: Big Tech, corporations like Bluesky PBC, and their VC investors seeking returns, whether by selling user data down the line, sharing it with “partners,” or already using it to train their AI models.

Anthropic banning “abusive or cruel behavior” toward Claude in its new usage policies is proof to me that tech companies are going to moderate violence against AI before they ever moderate violence against women and minorities

In a world that constantly seeks to occupy our attention, the ability to stop is not an escape. It is a form of self-government.

Either way, demonizing a tool is still far less harmful than demonizing the people who criticize it.
000
Paulo Cesar Siqueira, PhD @pcsiqueira.academics.blue · 08/10/2026
And again: > "demonize" mathematics, technology, and machine intelligence... That’s simply not true. People are criticizing the exploitation of these tools by the capitalist market, *although they often don’t know how to articulate that clearly*. +

Paulo Cesar Siqueira, PhD @pcsiqueira.academics.blue · 08/10/2026
It takes some empathy not to distort clearly anti-capitalist ideas into hatred of AI, especially on social media platforms where character limits make it difficult to express more nuanced arguments.
100
Paulo Cesar Siqueira, PhD @pcsiqueira.academics.blue · 08/10/2026
You have to understand that, often, people don’t know how to articulate what they actually mean. AI is basically just software; it’s not the greatest invention since sliced bread. (1/2)

Paulo Cesar Siqueira, PhD @pcsiqueira.academics.blue · 08/10/2026
You just choose to label these people (many of whom are themselves marginalized) “anti-AI” instead.
100
Paulo Cesar Siqueira, PhD @pcsiqueira.academics.blue · 08/10/2026
Yes, but it’s funny how you only seem to apply that argument when it’s useful for defending AI. The same logic works both ways: what you call “anti-AI” is, in 99% of cases, opposition to the capitalist structures surrounding its development, deployment, and commercialization. (1/2)

Possibly, but probably not in terms of how big tech companies would train on and monetize our personal data, or how that technology could be used to surveil, profile, and manipulate marginalized communities.

It wouldn’t be a matter of “selling blue checkmarks,” but rather offering legitimate verification—perhaps using the same kind of verification already used for age verification or by Meta’s platforms.

Paulo Cesar Siqueira, PhD @pcsiqueira.academics.blue · 07/10/2026
That’s an interesting idea for monetizing the platform. However, have you considered making account verification a premium feature? Most platforms already offer something along those lines.
