Small confession. Smaller bundles in Hologram v0.12 took me two tries. The first was a 12,600-line data flow analysis. I threw it away. That hurt a bit... What shipped just checks what the server sends. On a 9,000-module app the runtime went from 5.6 MB to 660 KB, 133 KB gzipped in production :)

Pen and watercolor

Cowboys again. This time one of our boys has lost his boots. Standing in a field of long grass the cowboy points towards the ground and shouts back to his colleague, “Lil bone people got muh boots.” This makes no sense to the other cowboy who sits atop his horse away from the action. He responds, “Lil wut?” Sure enough in the foreground we see a squad of little bone people scampering through the grass with the stolen cowboy boots. They’re thrilled. How the bone people got the boots off the cowboy is unclear.

Artist’s note: I tend to draw drawings from the same perspective (straight on) most of the time. This idea came about when I was goofin around trying to draw a character from a lower angle. I like that the story unfolds with the foreground, mid-ground, and background all working together. There’s a draft of this one included in the Spooky Pants book. Coming out next week!

The separation question has consumed most of the attention around the province's October 19th referendum. The immigration-related questions also on the ballot might be just as dangerous and divisive.
