A pop-up Super PAC is spending six figures on mailers backing a socialist running as an independent in the Ohio Senate race against Husted and Brown. We won’t know the donors for a while but there are signs it’s a GOP-backed effort.

Having grown up in Wales, I can testify that if you are actually worried about your culture and history being under threat, the thing to do is write poetry and songs, perform plays, tell stories and organise festivals, not just sit around whining.

As I've said before: On January 20, 2029, every ICE agent hired in the prior 4 years should be immediately fired. Any who think they're one of the good ones can reapply and try to prove they aren't the last kind of people we want given a gun and a badge.

More revelations every day, but even if he loses this election, Netanyahu is like a cockroach; I fully expect that 30 years from now we'll be seeing headlines saying "Benjamin Netanyahu returns for unprecedented 12th term as Israeli PM at age 106"

Don't know if any journalist has explored this, but the fact that Elissa Slotkin is now working hard for El-Sayed shows she's a smart pol. No doubt she realized that if she held back and he lost, presidential primary voters in '28 would never forgive her.

The last U.S. Senate race in Texas to go without a debate was in 2000. Gov. Greg Abbott, meanwhile, debated his Democratic opponents in each of his last three campaigns.

I try really hard not to be seduced by conspiracy theories, but we never got any plausible explanation of why Gov. Polis let Tina Peters out of prison, and the idea that he was being blackmailed, or something similarly crazy, is about all that makes any sense.

"Bessent enjoys cultivating a tough-guy image," the article says. But treating those over whom you have power like shit doesn't make you tough, it just makes you an asshole. Trump's "tough guys" are all like this - whiny toddlers with no self-control who mistake cruelty for strength.

The most obvious thing in the world is utterly puzzling to so many in the upper reaches of the Democratic Party, who believe the better idea is to spend the next 20 years on their knees before Republican voters, saying "We hear you, all your choices were wise and virtuous, please don't hate us"...

And so it continues... Our economic debates seem utterly disconnected from the reality. That reality: This is an economy mostly creating healthcare jobs, and it does so month after month, and everything else is just noise.
Line chart titled "Effectively all of the net job creation has been in healthcare and social assistance, and jobs are shrinking in the rest of the economy" showing change in non-farm payrolls since January 2025 through September 2026. Healthcare and social assistance added 998,000 jobs with consistent growth throughout the period, while the rest of the economy lost 222,000 jobs, meaning all net job creation came from healthcare. The rest of the economy showed particular weakness from May through August 2025 when losses reached 218,000 jobs. This striking divergence reveals an unusual concentration where one sector's growth of roughly 48,000 jobs per month has offset persistent contraction across all other industries combined.
