Well I am surprised! I have just moved to Winchester and, if ever there was a town that I thought would true blue tory it's this one. Not so! It's actually yellow, that is to say Lib-Dem. The council is overwhelmingly Lib-Dem dominated and the town's MP is a Lib-Dem too!

My job involves helping people with all sorts of problems. Just at the local level I'm seeing a rapist out on bail for years, harassing his victim, attacking others, still on bail. A DV offender out of prison, harassing the victim and nothing done by the police. There are more and its exhausting.

Just an observation - has anyone else noticed a proliferation of the the use of 'aircrafts' as a plural of 'aircraft'? The word 'aircraft' is both singular and plural - there is no plural 'one aircraft', '10 aircraft' are both 100% correct. '2 aircrafts' is WRONG!

I wrote to the DWP to inform them that I wanted to change the bank account into which my UK pension is paid. I didn't receive any acknowledgement so I phoned them. It transpires that when they scanned in my letter something went wrong & the contents of the letter were illegible so they did nothing!

I registered to vote this morning in Winchester & said "I assume my registration in Eastbourne will automatically be removed" "No you need to do that yourself" was the reply. I went for a stroll around Winchester High Street last night around 21:00 & of the half dozen restaurants & pubs I passed, most were empty! The number of punters between all of them I passed was probably less than 10. OK, Sunday nights are quiet but even so - how do these places make a living?
