The quality of writing and thought here should put both sociologists of religion and Missional Church influencers to shame. A must read for anyone at all interested in religion.

I personally find it wild that you shared the actual phone number of the actual president trump on main just like this. 😆 Who falls for this stuff? I mean, it must work or they would stop doing it.

Violence is abhorent to our God. State violence is some of the worst violence in our cities and in our world. Every use of violence is a failure of peace, hope, and love. These students are demanding peaceful and hopeful schools to learn in. The state has unleashed riot police upon them.

In France, high-school children are protesting to obtain better conditions for studying. The Ministry has requested that "there should be no restrictions on the use of force, and no instructions not to use all available weapons". Several children have suffered mutilations to their eyes or hands.

Let us pray. This is the Urban Monastic Collect for the Memorial of Francis of Assisi
Let us pray.
God, You called Saint Francis of Assisi to a life of humility and poverty out of which he proclaimed the risen Christ to all of Creation. † Help us, as we walk in the footsteps of Your Son, * to be filled with the joy and love only found within and through our Lord Jesus Christ. Your Son, who lives and reigns in unity with You and the Holy Spirit. God, now and forever.
Amen.

Prions. Voici la Oraison Monastique Urbaine pour la Mémoire de François d'Assise
Prions.
Amen.

I'm also pretty confident that at least 20% of ministry is cleaning of some kind. Seems like everytime people get together there is something to clean afterwards. I stand by it. If you are a person who doesn't do dishes (in general sense), I don't trust you & won't follow you. I love doing dishes.

If you were here, you would probably have already been chatting away with me while we were doing dishes!

Our senior warden gave a little laugh and smiled at me. But I did notice a few people glaring at me. So I added, "dishes are so easy to do" 😂 More hands did come to help. I didn't have to put a single thing away! It was lovely.

Today at the Cathedral, I was washing & drying the dishes after our ministry leaders' lunch. A group of the leaders came through, and one of them said, "look, Paul is doing dishes" but in a way that felt a bit.. off. So I responded: "I don’t trust people who don’t do dishes." I stand by it. ⚓

This, and also some skin creams and moisturizers. Weird things one learns going to protests in France. Though, you never should have had this leaving Rocky Horror. that sucks.

They have started filming a couple weeks back. So everything is now in chaos mode. I'm still hopeful that the director will choose me over the person in Spain. My first day of filming will be a week from Friday just north of Paris (where I live). As far as I know, no decision has been made.

I'm still waiting... 🙏 appreciated. 6 weeks ago I was invited to audition for a cast supporting role in an upcoming feature film. I've never acted before. Yet, I crushed the audition & callback. The french casting director put me up for the role. The hickup: it was also cast in Spain.

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

During his address to President Macron and French authorities Leo XIV greeted not only the French people, but “all those who live in this country.” He referred to all its inhabitants as “one people” and said that the diversity of their origins “enriches the art of living together”.

There is no such thing as a singular Christian culture. Either Jesus is for all cultures and all people or the gospel isn’t actually good news.

Looking at this again and I could tell what church it was. So thats good I guess. It is very fuzzy, and it completely removed the nave smashing the dome into the front facade. This vanished nearly 2/3rds the size of the building. so not great IMO. Shaped more like Temple du Marais nearby.

In the grand scheme of things happening in the world, this is a small thing. I can no longer bring myself to even listen to Hank Green. His use of LLMs and inability to simply not cover something because he doesn't know it... I cannot trust him again as a speaker or science communicator.

It could also be interesting to include that just in the Western tradition we've had two different ways of numbering the same psalms (which makes it super fun to try to work with psalm arrangements for the Divine Office over time)

I wonder if the arguement would be stronger flipped. Starting with "Whether 150 was arbitrarily..." and the finishing with your first post. It feels like it creates a bit more wonder and possibility that way.

💔 I dislike how articles like this remind me of books that I want to read again. If you haven't read 'Pilgrim at Tinker Creek' yet, you are in for a good time. I read it during university after one of my drawing professors, Dr. Charles Lume, read excerpts before many of our studio classes.

I wonder how better our world might be today if we responded with love to acts of hatred. Matthew 5:38-48 Photos taken in April 2002 of the September 11th memorial along the fence of St Paul's Chapel one block from ground zero in New York City.
Little stuffed animals along the bottom of a fence with one small american flag sticking out.Large sheets of fabric hung from the top of a fence with messages written upon it.
