i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

In the grand scheme of things happening in the world, this is a small thing. I can no longer bring myself to even listen to Hank Green. His use of LLMs and inability to simply not cover something because he doesn't know it... I cannot trust him again as a speaker or science communicator.

💔 I dislike how articles like this remind me of books that I want to read again. If you haven't read 'Pilgrim at Tinker Creek' yet, you are in for a good time. I read it during university after one of my drawing professors, Dr. Charles Lume, read excerpts before many of our studio classes.

My meditation on this weeks lectionary is out. I focus on the texts in Matthew and Romans. It's an intense week of bible for us! It feels important to model a medatative approach to the text that is hermanutically informed by language, culture, history, context, and is profoundly embodied.

New profile pic - same guy who loves eggs, sunsets, and Jesus. Oh, and by 'new' I really mean a photo that was taken in October 2024 when Jordan and I got to hang out in Berlin with Sheila.

Just a reminder that less than 5% of the global population are US residents. Over 95% of the world will continue to call it Lake Ontario. Just like over 95% call it the Gulf of Mexico. These numbers also assume that every person in the US will call it that (which they won't).
