I had my campaign kickoff last night, and it was a success. I gave my speech and only forgot half a line! I didn’t realize that campaigning is also building community, and I love that. I’m running for my local high school board. www.tricia4students.com You should run, too.

This is my grandfather. I called him Papa Orman. We attended the same high school, but he didn’t graduate. I was the 1st in my family to graduate from college. My mom was the second. Now I’m running for high school board in my hometown. I’d love your support! secure.anedot.com/tricia-caspe...

There’s a tiny theater in a tiny strip mall in Nevada City. From the outside it’s all 1980s forgotten building. Inside! Cozy, clean. 29 seats. Plush seats, wide and royal red. And the popcorn! Delish. This is where we watched Mary Oliver. Perfection.

Today’s #Sealeychallenge : In the Eye of the Elephant by Moira Magneson, poet laureate of El Dorado County. Moira and I have been members of the Red Fox Underground Collective for a million years. Her work always surprises me—like this poem written in response to an earlier poem in the book. 🐘

Hey writer team, a friendly reminder from me (wearing my editor's fedora): I know you're not using AI to write your submissions. Also, don't use it to write your cover letters, bio, or emails, or any other thing. I'm sure you're not doing this, but tell all your friends. Here's a blossom.
