What makes social prescribing work for patients? Our research, commissioned by the National Academy for Social Prescribing found that patients valued the time, listening and individual support they received from Social Prescribing Link Workers.
More than three-quarters
of patients (76%) reported they felt like an equal partner in decisions about their care made with their link worker.

⭐ Social prescribing can make a significant difference to people’s health and wellbeing.
It's just better than anything else as it is personal and not self serving. If the NHS put folk like my social prescriber in charge you'll have a NHS to be proud of.Genuinely the best interaction within the NHS in my life. (My link worker) is fantastic and changed my experience completely around for the bestI recommend social prescribing to anyone I meet who is struggling, typically those who are sole unpaid carers for family members.

We welcome the recognition of patient experience as a core pillar of high quality care. Now we need to see the ambition for patients to have real power, not just voice, put into practice. Read our joint statement with @pickereurope.bsky.social on the new quality strategy: buff.ly/lXGRh5P
"We agree that delivering high quality care is a shared responsibility across the NHS and support the renewed focus on tackling structural inequalities and unwarranted variation within the health service. Strengthening how patient experience is measured and improved is essential – only by focusing on what matters most to patients, service users and their families and carers can care become truly person centred.
