So, yeah, after seeing some stuff online this weekend about how people are thinking about their votes, I think we need to teach how Nader spoiled the 2000 election in schools. Explicitly. Yikes.

I think it's critically important to turn out in unprecedented numbers, vote for the democrats (no matter how bland and complicit), and try to pull the country back from our current collapse into authoritarian nationalism. Vote your conscience, but be realistic about the impact. 6/6

If you're a liberal, leftist, socialist, communist, or whatever ... voting for a long-shot / no-realistic-hope fringe candidate rather than the mainstream democrat increases the odds, just a tiny bit, that the republican will win. Maybe you're fine with that, but that's the impact. 3/?

The invasive spotted lanternfly has been found in Somerville. Although the insect doesn’t bite or sting, it can cause damage to many trees, shrubs, and vines, and has the potential to impact a range of agricultural crops and products, including grapes, apples, peaches, and maple syrup.  🧵

Given the number of stalled construction projects around the city, I think we should be really careful before approving demolition of current existing buildings where people live, work, and play today. We need real housing, not wild fantasies that were never going to happen anyway. 8/?
