I think it’s based on estimated GB shipments: the forecast was that NV would ship around 6 million GPUs in 2026.
The second point is that from what has been disclosed 7.2 million GPUs would be over an order of magnitude larger than the 100k GPUs NV claimed was used to train GPT-5.5
