This is probably nonsense, but I wonder if it’s the same “saying something is more important than being right” mentality which undergirds chatbots 🤔 Like, the search engine can’t find an answer to your specific query, but it can throw a bunch of semi-related stuff at you just to give results.

Infuriating thing I’ve noticed: Boolean search doesn’t work anymore, except on fucking Google for some reason. In general, trying to search for any sort of “complicated” search term just results in the search engine completely ignoring one or more of the keywords. Unless, again, it’s Google.
