Arsenal have been very good this season. No sugarcoating today though – that was really, really bad. We played poorly, Brighton played very well, and they absolutely deserved the win and all three points. A real off day, hard to explain, but individually and collectively we were terrible.

Nothing new but it really stands out how bad Arsenal are in transition. It’s not just a pace thing but a weight of pass, and decision making issue as well. There is rarely any conviction in how we approach transition moments and it’s been an issue for ages now.

That’s the worst I’ve seen Arsenal play in a long time. Brighton with two unbelievable finishes but they’ve been miles better across the pitch. Our midfield has been shocking and forget about the second balls. Going to be difficult to get a result from here.

Brighton have made it v tough, but Arsenal were so far below par. Starting early on at the back from Raya, defenders giving them too much space for the shots that led to the goals, no midfield control, not winning 2nd balls, no attacking threat. Awful stuff. A lot to do to get anything from this
