New paper in eNeuro led by a fabulous undergraduate team in my lab in col. with Ed Silson! Navigation requires linking what you see with your memory. We asked how the functional organization of superior parietal cortex link scene perception with spatial memory. www.eneuro.org/content/13/9...

Scene Perception–Memory Pairing Extends to the Superior Parietal Cortex
Visual scene analysis relies on a set of scene-selective regions in the posterior cerebral cortex (OPA, PPA, MPA), with a paired memory-responsive counterpart located in the anterior (LPMA, VPMA) or o...

Now out in Hippocampus!! 📣💥 We examined anatomical inputs to the hippocampal region in six species - the tenrec, rat, marmoset, cat, macaque, and human - and found that hippocampal processing operates on fundamentally different types of information across species! (1/3) dx.doi.org/10.1002/hipo...

1/ [PREPRINT] How is the lateral PFC organized to support cognition? Using precision fMRI, we show adjacent PFC regions support opposing functions, predicted by embedding in distinct networks across 3 cohorts (N=37). This could inform TMS treatment targets. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

📣 New study out today! We show that the brain's language network stays remarkably stable with age — same topography, lateralization, selectivity and connectivity as in younger adults — while the domain-general multiple demand network showed altered activity patterns. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Very excited to share this paper, led by @ajhaskins.bsky.social ! We find that how people look around the world is stable and idiosyncratic — and that these gaze patterns are shaped in part by the conceptual priorities each person brings to a scene. 1/3 www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

🚨 🧠 We have a new preprint out where we studied which brain networks are engaged during mental imagery and self-generated thought. We used a precision fMRI approach along with multidimensional experience sampling (mDES) to get trialwise self-reports from each participant about what they imagined.

New preprint!!! We can reliably detect brain changes in individuals in just a year by collecting several rapid 1-minute T1s at each time point - i.e. "cluster scanning". We discovered large individual differences, even in healthy adults t.co/oxD9EBdbvu
