Last night this guy, this fuckin' guy, this Nick Lutsko, had the whole crowd chanting "Piss! Piss! Piss!" and sung some stuff about Alex Jones (the one who popped like a balloon, not the jolly Welsh one) and it was excellent. I have a lot to learn about Dan Bongino and Spirit Halloween, it seems.
It's Nick Lutsko! He's sat on a stool on stage, wielding an acoustic guitar, with no backing except for the lights.

We helped a friend run some cultural workshops at the Hyper Japan festival a while back, but couldn't participate while helping, so today we got to paint our own festival masks as thanks 😊 I may have ended up a bit luchador. Not complaining 😛
A Japanese festival mask resting on a piano. It's painted with a bright green nose and eyes amid dark brown fur, and sunset ears/cheeks because I was playing with stippled gradients.A row of festival masks resting on a piano. From left to right, they are a brown tanuki, myself with the bright green nose, a red and black mask with blue ears, a white mask with the David Bowie ziggy stardust design, and a black and gold anubis mask.

weirdly tempted to get the new Rhythm Paradise for Windows 98 Thanks Amazon? 😅 Rhythm Heaven has some throwback vibes but it doesn't go that far!
The Amazon listing for Rhythm Paradise Groove, a nintendo switch game, says it is for Windows XP, Windows 98, Windows Me, or Windows 2000.

I got my partner an anniversary "bromeliad" and it's already expanding to take over the dining room Really hoping we didn't just get little shop of horrors'd by tesco express 🥲
A "bromeliad" plant sitting in a ceramic pot. A central pillar of leaves transitions into a bright red flower with a white centre, while the lower leaves expand outwards covering a decent chunk of our dining table.

I am once again a late-night hammock wolf In this heatwave it's really nice to lay outside once it cools off a bit, under the few stars you can see from London, listening to the wind through the trees, the occasional police sirens, the insistence of our dog that I'm supposed to be inside now 😅
A long-exposure night shot looking up from my hammock. It's misleading for a few reasons - my phone's taken some liberties adding colour and light where things are mostly just a silhouette for me, and it's wide-angle, which makes it look like I'm next to a forest and not just a line of trees between me and the road!

all the sensory-seeking neurodivergents are moshing their hearts out at this Anamanaguchi gig and I love them dearly 💕
It's a small and dimly lit venue. The band Anamanaguchi are on stage in front of a silver tinsel backdrop putting in maximum effort. The crowd are mere metres from them and the room is hazy because of how hot a day it is, no smoke machine needed.

This is somehow the chillest spot in London, defying the heatwave. Tonight's "oh look, Anamanaguchi!" gig ought to be glorious 📯

Windy Thunderhail! It sure is exciting as a storm, but our half-husky is not happy about it at all. She has tucked herself under my desk for support.
A large mostly-white dog with very attentive ears is giving me side eye from next to my very stripy feet, taking up all available space under my desk.

I am home safely, and our dog has apparently become a con artist in my absence... She tricked a housemate into giving her a second dinner by shepherding him to an empty bowl and licking it with sad eyes 😅 (Normally she doesn't finish it until the next day, so it was easy to believe.)
The master trickster, a mostly-white partially-husky, plots her next move from the sofa.

I have been furnished with the scrungliest wolf puppet, we found him during this house clear-out and he is our mascot now 🩵
A hand-puppet of a wolf, gripping a stone egg in his mouth.

His eyes aren't super visible and his nose and face are sorta twisted by the human arm holding him up.

Baffling use of AI imagery here, the actual place (Avivo Village) looks better and has more space per person than this weird box dungeon.
A screenshot of an article with a panoramic photo of Avivo Village, an indoor tiny home installation for the unhoused. The tiny houses are indeed tiny, but livable, and they have common space outside and between them.

Idk who Artik or Man are, but they've done some super humbling tagging work in this viaduct. I was here this time last week, thinking about how the graffiti never goes above human height, and now they've delivered with 6ft letters going 24-30ft up in the air.
A photo taken from underneath a massive victorian railway viaduct. There's a mess of graffiti on the base plinth, where anyone could reach, but now the letters A R T I K have been painted high up the pillars that hold the viaduct up. The letters are each about 10ft tall, and start about 15ft from the ground. They're tastefully presented, using pastel greens and pinks to give shape and depth to otherwise plain white letters.A photo from underneath a viaduct, of a pillar that has been painted to read MAN vertically. At the highest I'd estimate the M reaches 30ft. The letters are mostly tan yellow, with pink and purple shadows, but it seems the creators had a last minute change of thought and tried to repaint the yellow blue. The letters look older than they are, as a result.

I have once again accidentally kicked this dog in the face she will block the way and insist on being stepped over, then stand up as you attempt to do so, she has done it before and will do it again Look at her trying to make me feel guilty 🫠
A mostly-white half-husky full of GUILE and lacking REMORSE is sat on a brown carpet that is covered in shedding from her own fur. She is curled to the right to look up at the camera with a face that sorta says "you kicked me in the head, how could you" but mostly knows the jig is up.

It's "let's play a Big Board Game Day", pray for me 🥲 I've been assured that this expansion should be slightly more accessible than the original because it's a little more collaborative than the base game. One can hope.
A game of "Arcs The Blighted Reach" has been set up on a table. Visible from this angle are at least forty different cardboard tokens and wooden pieces spread across three different boards, and a lot of playing cards. It's vaguely space themed.

You can just about make out that I'm playing the "Advocate", and I've started with a relic and an empath to my name. I don't yet know what these do or mean!

They were out of discount easter eggs, so it's time for Doubting hippopoThomas! My friend Leo made that pun and entirely disabled himself with laughter, we're sure my ecumenical bluesky followers will get it.
One of the chocolate easter egg alternatives from Marks and Spencer, it is a chocolate hippopotamus. The box says "Hiccup the Hippo. I hope you pygmy!". I'm...not sure if that's a slur? Then again, Marks and Spencer were also the last holdouts to rename a certain confectionary to Iced Gems.

I'm stealing Chichester's press shots just to show off one of the transitions between BFG human and puppet, every single time the change was magic. Not pictured here is small-puppet BFG, for when the big giants got human actors and the human characters got even smaller!

My favourite TTRPG rules system is HEART! (Human Error Assessment & Reduction Technique) OK so it's a systems engineering standard, but have you seen these tables for calculating player disadvantage based on action context? The task feeling meaningless is 2-3x as bad as being below 75% HP!
The "error producing conditions" table from Human Error Assessment and Reduction Technique, containing 38 different modifiers to the chance of failure at a given task. Some highlights include 37, which adds a stacking 3% failure rate for each extra person you don't need, 28, which multiplies failure by 1.4 if the task feels intrinsically meaningless, and 6, which multiplies failure by 8 if the person doing the task fundamentally misunderstands how the world works.

You should buy cool shirts from @eyepatchwolf.bsky.social, nobody* questions an obvious custard spill because the designs are 🌟 just 🌟 too 🌟 crisp 🌟 And I take it as their blessing that half an hour later I found a signed copy of Vermis III in an indie bookshop 😁 *outside the custard bun shop
It's my torso, adorned with the eyepatchwolves WOLF t-shirt, and an errant streak of egg custard that is a story by itself suffice to say more than one person assumed it was intentional and that I was "pulling it off as a look", I am a beautifully gullible person. A bookplate edition of Vermis III, and yes it's sitting on a copy of godhusk, they had both in stock and I got very excited.

I got surprise post today and I'm psyched! @kamibox-ph.bsky.social sent me physical versions of the stickers Linda Mile made for Bacon – The Game. I flip the daily bacon more consistently than I wordle, so this is delightful 😊 I'm at risk of echoing my mum's weird stick-on googly eyes phase 😈
Assorted sheets of little stickers by Linda Mile (@lintschie on Instagram). One sheet is an abstract bacon texture with strips cut out so you can stick bacon to things, but the wealth of the stickers are little accessories, eyes, foods, limbs, hats, and exclamations, in a light and toony style, suitable for turning most objects into some form of "Mr Non-Binary Bacon Head"

Firework season is properly traumatising our poor girl again. This year she started getting anxious a few weeks ago just because the evenings were getting darker. Currently she is trying in vain to dig a hole under the WiFi router. (We've tried many things, free reign to patrol helps the most.)

There is a ghost who lives under our table and seeks offerings.
Two thirds of the face of a dog peek out from under a table, blurry with excitement, you can see the whites of her eyes as she looks up where the food might be.The same dog face under the table, merely eyes and a snout, has stabilised from being blurry and is silently begging for a morsel of pizza.
