Well it’s been a while but I painted a mini. Sons of Prometheus Apothecary Biologis. Perhaps I’ll finish the Leviathan marines before 11th drops… (spoiler - I will not)

I have finished my labour of love (and hospital visits), an upscaled Vulkan He’stan! I was pleased that the rumour of a new sculpt being released later this year came after I’d invested 90% of my (very significant) time and literal blood into him. Details in alt text #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

A kitbashed Vulkan He’stan mini. He stands on a rocky outcrop, holding a flaming spear aloft and surveying the battlefield. His armour is green with gold trim, including flame details. It is pitted with age. His helmet has a large black plume and his backpack is topped by a large flaming Salamanders icon.

This has been a labour of love and I'm not sure what took longer - the build or the paint job.

I used:
- the body of the Bladeguard Lieutenant from Indomitus
- the spare head, left arm, tabard and flaming backpack icon from the original Vulkan sculpt
- the gorget from a Black Templar
- a vanguard veteran helm that was pretty close to the original Vulkan helm
- the pauldrons from the Salamanders Firedrakes resin kit
- the helmet plume, backpack and cloak from one of the Age of Darkness Praetors
- a random elf spear tip and pommel to lengthen the original spear
- Green stuff for the armour detailing and drakeskin cloak
- Shoulder dangly bits from a Custodian Allarus Terminator
- cork bark for the rocky base outcrop

I managed to slice clean through my thumb (through the top of the nail and out the other side, parallel to the bone) necessitating an emergency hospital visit and plenty of silent judgement from Mrs Sallies. Never let it be said I do not suffer for my craft!
